Sorry that it has been so long, but things have been going well and been busy. We are just finishing our 3rd week of camp it is World Impact 4th – 6th grade camp. The kids are having a great time. While I am running zipline I am asking the kids what they learned in Bible class. It’s a way for them to take their mind off of their fears and makes them think about what they are learning in class. I have gotten my ciriculem down; 2 days of canoeing, then 1 day of bouldering, then 1 day at the rock face.
This one time when I was running the zipline there was this cabin of girls that came up and they were pretty funny. I decided to sing for them: Star Spangled Banner, Amazing Grace, and a few other great hits. They really enjoyed it.
Then tonight at evening games Mitch the guy in charge of them was telling the kids that they would have to run to hayford hall and back if they threw some grass. Then mitch told me to run to hayford hall in under 5 mins as a joke. The funny thing was I returned the joke back to him by just running up to hayford hall and back because I wasn’t expecting me to. It was great.
There is word that I might be able to fly back the 15th of Aug. That would be cool.
Last weekend I ended up surfing. I got up about twice. It was fun.

Today I ran free time rock climbing. It went well. I was leading 2 adventure staff that were belaying the kids. They really enjoyed it.
Today during rock and water class that Deanna was teaching the wind was really strong. Me and my canoe lost our paddles doing this cool thing where you put the paddle in the water and shove it under realquick then it floats up and looks cool. The only thing was we all did it about the same time and lost our paddles. So they were like Brad someone needs to jump in the water and get them. So I did and I was hoping that when my head came out of the water that I hadn’t swamped the canoe. Luckly I didn’t when I jumped out of the canoe. I swam and grabed the canoe and pulled it to the paddles that were floating in the water. Then inorder to get back in the canoe without swamping the canoe I grabed the front and then threw one leg over the front and then pulled myself into the canoe.

Today Jared, Wes, and I decided to be adventurous on this sat. We left around 8am to drive down lake hughes rd. and then we would bike back a lane about 4 miles and then hike 1 mile to a rock climbing site that Sean (previous camp director) had set up. But as we were biking along we realized that it could have been an unwise decision. We didn’t have enough water for the entire endeavor. Also would we really have enough energy after we would climb to hike a mile with gear and then bike 4 miles. So we turned back around.
We then decided to go on routes 4 and 5 at THE OAKS. These routes are ones that we don’t usally have the kids do because they are more difficult. Things were alright on 4 but when we moved to 5 the rock became pretty sharp. Wes and I ended up cutting our fingers a bit. Wes had the worst of it, he managed at one time cut 5 fingers. So then we decided to end the time of rock climbing. Wes and I chilled at the pool. I had dinner and then worked on cleaning my room for about an hour and took a shower. tonight we are supose to have a GAME NIGHT at the oaks with summer staff.

Tonight I went back to the white trailer after firecircle. I logged on to my computer and checked my email. I looked and saw an email from my mom with the subject of Baby. I was like what about a baby. Below is what the email said.
Brad,
Angela called and you are an UNCLE!!! The baby was born at 6:53, tonight July 3rd. However, they had a surprise. It was predicted to be a boy and they had a GIRL!!!….Ariel Faith (don’t know how to spell it) She was 7 pounds, 20 1/2 inches long. They are both doing fine. Angela sounds so excited! I will be going up there to help them but don’t know for sure when. Shannon has 1 week off and I’m to help the second week. I probably won’t go till next Tuesday through the following Sunday but not sure yet. Going to give them about 24 hours to see how things are going and then decide.
So how are you doing? Take care,
Love mom
I was going crazy. I was like Uh… what…just making werid broken up words and just thinking “Brad you are an Uncle now”. Elizebeth was in the white trailer and asked me what was the matter, I was speachless. I grabed my laptop and went to Megan’s appartment to see if anyone was there to share the news to. Jessica was there and I told her that I am an Uncle now. It is still hard to believe. I borrowed Jess’ cellphone to call my mom which was around 1am her time. I told her screw it that I would wake her up and that I am only a new uncle once.

We left on Friday June 29th at about 8:00pm for the Grand Canyon. We had the intent of having 4 people go. But it ended up being 3 of us; Jessica, Jansen, and I. We went to Palmdale, CA to stop at Wal-Mart to get some things. Our first stop was Las Vegas. We came to this place called Primm, NV but from afar it had alot of lights and rediculus buildings, So I wondered if this was Las Vegas. We got to Vegas around 1:00am.
